Martin Janecky is one of my inspirations. His skill level in making the human figure out of glass is incomparable. I feel honored and privileged to have been invited along for this Alaskan experience! Thank you Martin Janecky, Marek Effmert, Judy Warwick, and Andy Warwick ย for an incredible adventure!

Fairbanks Alaska Ice Sculpting Competition 2014

A mile from Judy Warwick’s studio (where we were working); Fairbanks holds an international Ice Sculpting competition every year. They harvest some of the cleanest ice for the competition and cut them into huge ton blocks. As a glass artist, you can see why i had to visit the park several times and check out the process. It was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen! (Other than the wild live moose and Northern Lights of course!)

I was just mesmerized by the ice. ((I wonder why… almost looks like glass))

These are just some of my favorites!
